Apple Crumble

Serves: 5-6
  • 2 lbs. cooking apples, peeled, cored and sliced
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ¾ cup all purpose flour
  • ¼ cup margarine
  • ¼ cup nuts (optional)
  1. Peel, core and slice apples. I make this simple by using this apple peeler/corer.
  2. Combine apples, lemon juice, spices and ½ of the sugar. Toss together and put into a greased baking dish.
  3. Add 1-2 Tablespoons of water to the baking dish
  4. Sift the flour with a good pinch of salt into a bowl
  5. Cut in the margarine and add remaining sugar and nuts (if desired)
  6. Sprinkle flour mixture over the apples
  7. Bake for 45 minutes at 350
