DIY Menu Board

So I had Monday off of work this week and decided I was going to craft, and oh boy did I craft. 3 projects in one afternoon and all of them were successful! The first one I did was a DIY Menu Board. Working full time and to save money I try to grocery shop once a week and so I plan a weeks worth of meals. I always write them down in my notebook then forget what I bought food for and I’m flipping through my notebook trying to remember what I picked for this week. So I decided to make a menu board.

DIY Menu Board-Love, Pasta and a Tool Belt

I was wandering through Joann’s not exactly sure how I was going to make this board when I stumbled upon a magnetic picture frame. I was so excited because I’ve tried the pretty frames but they are so heavy that in my experience no amount of magnets will keep them on the fridge. So a frame meant for the fridge was perfect. I gathered the rest of my supplies and was ready to go.

Supplies:
-Magnetic Picture Frame
-Sheet of scrapbook paper
-Scrapbook sticker letters
-Sharpie

So once I had my supplies I began this project. I started by cutting the paper because I couldn’t find one I liked in the right size. To make it accurate I taped the insert from the frame to the back of the paper and cut it out.

Next I took my scrapbook letters and put the word MENU at the top. Then I wrote the days of the week, if I had planned better I might have gotten smaller scrapbook letters for the days of the week because I don’t love my handwriting but it also would have been more expensive.

After I got all of that down I had some bare space at the bottom so I searched “kitchen and home quotes” and added a good quote to the bottom.

I then popped it back into the frame and there I had a beautiful little Menu Board that hangs perfectly on my refrigerator and looks cute. This way I can remember what’s for dinner and Tyler can look and know what we are having. It’s a great and simple way for a little more organization.

P.S. If any of these recipes sound delicious to you then head over to our Recipes page because they are all there 🙂

I made my menu board out of an old antique mirror that I painted with chalkboard paint. I love the “Give us this day our daily bread” at the end of yours! Visiting from SITS btw! 🙂
