Take a small space and create an inviting guest retreat with this Guest Bedroom Makeover

Guest Room-3

Slowly but surely we have been fixing up all the rooms in our house. It’s been almost a year since my dad came and painted everything for us except the office, hallway and bathrooms. Today my family is arriving for the week so we knew the guest room had to be done. It has been doubling as a closet/throw all room for me for the past year. I was so excited to get it done and it looks so cute!

We began the process with my dad painting it and my mom making some cute curtains for the room. Because it is a small room we can’t fit a queen size bed in it but we wanted to maximize our space while also being able to sleep two people in there. So we went with a day bed, so when more than one person comes we can slide the bed out from under and it just fits so the door can be closed. We went scouring Craig’s List and found this bed right before my parents arrived last August. They sold it to us with the bedding which I wasn’t initially thrilled about but it ended up it goes really well with the paint color and the curtains.

For some art on the walls we hung up some frames from a project that I will be sharing with you all soon. It was a great way to add something to the wall and not have them be bare. I wanted a cozy guest room so when people come to visit they will feel at home.

I hope you all enjoy seeing the before and after pictures of our completed guestroom. I love it!

Before- It was a mess, full of boxes that needed unpacking.

I know you probably hated showing that before picture. But, we all have rooms we’re not ready to show the world. Your room improvement is show-ready now! Love it all – great job. 🙂
