Anything Italian makes me happy :). I never make true chicken parmesan because it always sounds difficult to make so I love when I come across a version that is so simple but tastes like chicken parmesan you would get in a restaurant. This recipe fit the bill for that. It was simple but tasted so delicious. My aunt shared this recipe with me last weekend and I knew I had to make it immediately.
Ingredients:
-Olive Oil (to coat pan)
-3 Chicken Breasts
-1 large marinara sauce
-Mozzarella cheese
-1 bag Garlic Croutons
-Fresh Basil
-2 garlic cloves
-Salt and Pepper
Directions:
1. Pour olive oil into a 9×13 pan to coat the bottom thinly
2. Add 2 garlic cloves, minced and salt and pepper
3. Pound chicken breasts and place in pan
4. Cover chicken in marinara sauce to your desired amount
5. Place garlic croutons on top of marinara
6. Sprinkle with fresh chopped basil
7. Cover in mozzarella cheese to your desired amount
8. Re-sauce and then Re-cheese
9. Bake for 30 minutes at 350
The croutons cooked so well and created a delicious breaded taste to the chicken. It was so delicious. We served it over egg noodles. It tasted like we had taken the time to bread the chicken but instead we had done this very simple version and it was delicious.

The croutons are such a smart shortcut. One of the things I dread doing in the kitchen is breading meat. I don’t know why, but I despise it. This is going to save me so much time and it looks absolutely amazing and restaurant quality. I think I’m going to serve over egg noodles as well.
I agree. I love a good short cut! Hope you enjoy this meal!
I loved this. You made it sound so easy. I love to cook but can’t believe I have never attempted Chicken Parmesan. Thanks for linking up with Wine’d Down Wednesday! Hope to see you again next week with another great post.
It was so very easy! I hope you enjoy it and thank you for hosting the party! I was excited to find it.
I never would have thought to put croutons on top! I love chicken parmesan and this looks fabulous. Thanks for the recipe!!
Thank you for coming by and I hope you enjoy it!
I am going to try this yet this week. I love shortcuts and I think I have all these ingredients in the house.
I hope that you enjoy it!!
I just made chicken Parmesan in the crock pot this week. Super easy. Breaded the chicken with bread crumbs, topped it with marinara sauce, and then let if cook on low for 4-6 hours. Topped with cheese the last 20 minutes. Pretty good for not having to be in the kitchen all evening!
Oh yum that sounds good! Smart to add the cheese in the last 20 minutes. I am definitely going to try that way out too!
Wow! I’m pinning this now! I’m a sucker for any great kitchen shortcuts, and this one is great. I don’t know why, but I’ve never thought of using croutons before. This will be going on my to-make menu this month for sure. I’ll also be passing it on to my sister in college, I bet she’ll appreciate an easy recipe too π
Thanks for sharing!
It is so simple. I hope you both enjoy it! Thank you for coming by!
What an easy recipe! I battle PCOS so I have to keep my carbs low. I would make my own croutons with some Rye bread because it is Low GI. Thanks for the inspiration. I am going to have to try this and write up a post on YUMeating. I love easy peasy recipes!
I hope that you enjoy it! It is so delicious!
Um, this is absolutely amazing! I have tons of bags of croutons I got for free and I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with them all! I’ve been waiting to top soups with them, but lets face it, its not soup weather quite yet! And, of course, we love chicken parm in this house but Im with you…sometimes I am not in the mood to spend all that time in the kitchen. I can’t wait to make this! Pinning!!!!
I’m glad you will have a way to use those croutons now! This is really so delicious and I hope you enjoy it! Thank you for pinning it!
Oh my gosh, this sounds so good! I never would have thought to use croutons as a workaround for breading the chicken, but it’s a brilliant idea. Got to add this to my “try it” file! π
Yes it is so good!! We loved it!
That looks amazing! My mouth is watering right now. We don’t eat meat, but Morningstar makes some great faux-Chick’n strips so I’ll have to put those in instead. I can’t wait to try it out!

I hope you enjoy it! It really was so delicious!!
I have never seen a recipe like this…I pinned it and cannot wait to try it the next time I make chicken cutlets! This sounds like a great change of pace!
Thank you for pinning it. I hope you enjoy it!
What a great shortcut to an old favorite! I’m always looking for simple, nourishing, meals, and this one fits the bill. We don’t eat a ton of wheat/gluten, but I may do this without the croutons, or use a GF alternative. Thanks for sharing!
I make a recipe similar to this without the croutons and it is also very delicious!
Since we are on a low-carb diet, I’ll have to figure out a way to make the croutons low carb. other than that, I love the idea.
It’s a great dish!! Hope you can figure it out and enjoy it!
no words, it’s mouth watering dish π
It is so delicious!
Nom! Getting hungry! I love anything Italian! Will have to try this recipe soon!
I hope you enjoy it!
I have never seen chicken parm cooked like this before. Seems like a much easier way to get the same tastes. Also no frying the chicken! Thats a waist saver and a time saver! Thanks for the information.

Oh my! What an easy quick recipe – thanks for sharing – I would never have thought of adding crotons! I am gonna have to try this with eggplant!
I hope that you enjoy it! Thank you for coming by and checking it out!
That looks delicious! The only thing I would change aside from the garlic and basil (food allergies) is the amount of sauce (another food allergy: tomatoes), because it would be too acidic for me to digest. Thanks for sharing, however! π
Thank you for coming by! I hope you’re able to change it up and enjoy it!
This looks so good. Where’s the pit it button?
Its so delicious! I am still working on getting the pin it buttons set up! Follow me on Pinterest for this recipe and other great recipes and crafts!
Thank you for this! I bookmarked this post. I will definitely try this. Oh I can’t wait!
Thank you for checking it out and I hope you enjoy it!!
That recipe looks SO delicious! The use of crutons instead of breading is pretty ingenuis. Like you, I love anything Italian (and ANYTHING with tomato in it) so this will definitely move into my rotation. I have a Vitamix and one of the things the manufacturer touts is the ability to make your own bread crumbs and crutons. I’m thinking a variation of this with bread crumbs would also work. Thanks so much for sharing this recipe!
Thank you for coming by and I hope you enjoy this recipe!
I love Chicken Parm! I have had more than one disaster dinner trying to perfect it. I finally found a recipe that I could easily prepare. This looks like another one I can add. Easy and delicious!!

That’s an interesting swap idea. I love recipes that are quick for those nights you got home later than planned. I’m thinking it would also work great with eggplant like Shashi said above. Could see using breadcrumbs too. Lots of good options.
