7 TV Shows that ended too soon

So after writing my Top 10 Returning TV Shows and seeing the great response I thought I would carry on and now do 10 7 TV Shows that ended too soon. Obviously these are my personal opinion so I want to know what you would add to this list.

1. Alias– One of my favorite shows of all time. I love Jennifer Garner and Michael Vartan and loved them as Sydney and Vaughn. This was a great show that I began watching when Blockbuster was selling used dvds cheap and I bought like 3 seasons. I caught up and then went to my Memaw’s once a week to watch it because we didn’t have cable yet. When it ended I was really sad and I feel like it should have had some more seasons in it.

2. Lost– I know it was planned to end how it did but still I miss my weekly dose of Jack, Kate and Sawyer. And what was with that ending? Who liked it and who thought what the heck when you saw it? I could use a couple more seasons just for them to explain what the heck was going on because I’m still not completely sure.

3. Gilmore Girls– I’m watching a rerun as I write this and it inspired this post. It ended with a bit of a cliffhanger because you were kind of left to your own imagination to finish it up. I think a Gilmore Girls movie would be perfect to wrap it up because we need to see Luke and Lorelei get married right?

4. Friends– Yes it ran for 10 seasons and thats a lot but I could have gone for 10 more. This is my all time favorite comedy. I laugh no matter how many times I’ve seen the episode, I quote the episodes and reference Friends in conversation. If it were up to me we’d be laughing right along with them into the retirement home.

5. Prison Break– I’m currently in the middle of marathoning it through the series for my second time. I read that this show ended sooner than the show’s creators had planned and I’m just glad they finished it up with a movie. But I could have used a few more seasons of this show. I’ve seen it before but yet I’m still on the edge of my seat watching it again.

6. Ringer– I loved this show and I was sad that it only made it past one season. It had me completely confused and intrigued and then it just ended. I’m still sad over this one can you tell? I was excited however to see Sarah Michelle Gellar returning to TV this season!

7. Happy Endings– This comedy was really quirky and strange but it worked. I always enjoyed watching it and it made me laugh. I was sad when they cancelled it.

Ok now tell me what you think? And what shows did I miss? What show were you the most upset to see be cancelled? I want to hear your thoughts!

So I have never seen the last two, but I agree on all the other ones! I was obsessed with Alias and would have loved to see it go longer. I will admit the writers got a little crazy towards that last season though! And Friends! Seriously the best show ever!

Yes they did get a little crazy near the end of Alias. But it was a great show! And Friends is my top comedy. Just love it!

I was finished with Lost by the time it went off the air, but I agree that Friends could have gone on for ten more years. I loved Prison Break during season one, but it lost something for me once they got out of prison. I really loved Pan Am last season, but I guess I was the only one. LOL!

LOVED Alias!!! and Lost! I think we would be good friends. 🙂 I would watch ANYTHING done by JJ Abrams. That man has the Midas touch! I just watched all of Alias again on Netflix. I don’t think it ended too soon- Jennifer Garner was obviously moving on in life (having babies and such) and I didn’t really like all the new characters they brought in. But the intrigue…it was so good! I also binge watched Prison Break on Netflix. Loved that one, too. Sad ending, though. But really, how long can you drag out a prison break? 🙂 You’re missing one very important one: Firefly. If you have never seen it, sit down with Netflix, binge watch it and you will be begging for more!

I think we would be great friends 🙂 I have not seen Firefly but I thought about adding it to the list just because Sheldon on Big Bang Theory mentions it all the time ha ha. I want to watch it but then I’m just afraid I will be disappointed because there is no more. One day tho I will probably watch it.

I really enjoyed Alias and Gilmore Girls when they first started out. I fell off watching them after a while though. I thought Ringer was an awesome show, but like many of the shows that come on CW they don’t last long 🙁 Happy Endings was a really cute show, I didn’t know it wasn’t coming back for a second season. I was able to catch a few episodes of it last season and enjoyed it. I always hate to see good shows go, but like all things there’s always something new around the corner or a channel flip away!

Fun post! I could not agree more with Alias. It’s definitely on of my top three favorite shows ever hands down. Oh how I miss Sydney and Vaughn! I also agree with Prison Break. We watched it a few months ago on Netflix and were really bummed when it ended. I would add to this list: Veronica Mars. Have you seen it? Apparently they’re making a movie soon, which will hopefully redeem what is probably the worst series finale of all time. 🙂

I agree 100% about Friends. Where most shows really show their age around year 8 and you want them to end because all you’re doing is groaning, this show just got funnier and funnier. There is not an episode I won’t watch though I didn’t love seasons 1 and 2. They hadn’t hit their stride yet. I would have loved to watch them into retirement. The last couple of years just kept me rolling on the floor every Thursday night!!

Another issue I have is getting sucked into British TV shows which have the weirdest production schedules and only like 6 shows a season.Ugh. Actually, I would add Merlin to the list of TV shows that ended too soon.

Alias was great and I swear Bradley Cooper played Jennifer Garner’s best friend who was in love with her. My daughter and I loved Lie To Me and another show I think it was called Life, about a cop who had been in prison, the actor had red hair. We loved those shows and were mad when they got canceled. Friends was great up to the last minute. Some shows go down hill but that show was still great. Prison Break is on my list to watch on Net Flix. My kids are highly recommending that series.

My list of shows lean toward the geeky and sci-fi.
1.Firefly.When I found out this show was cancelled,I cried.Seriously. It was that good.Nobody puts together an ensemble cast like Joss Whedon.
2.Dollhouse.Again, another Joss Whedon show.Really good.
3.Miracles. I loved this show so much probably because I have a crush on Skeet Ulrich.Miracles,demons,scams,murder,intrigue.Only one season-sad.
4.Wonderfalls.This show was so good and snarky. It’s all about this girl where inanimate objects speak to her and tell her what to do and you don’t know why until the end.So funny.
5.Pushing Daisies.Oh how I loved this show.It was so funny and how can you go wrong with Kristin Chenowith?
6.Battlestar Gallactica.I know,it had a great ending.but I could have watched this show for-ever.For real.I tried to get on board with the prequel they put out and just couldn’t get into it.
