Operation Smile and Campus Book Rentals

Have you guys heard of Operation Smile? Today I want to tell you about Operation Smile and how they are helping heal children’s smiles and how you can help through Campus Book Rentals and their new program Rent Back.

Operation Smile

Operation-Smile

Operation Smile is an international medical children’s charity that heals children’s smiles, forever changing their lives. Did you know that every three minutes a child is born with a cleft? Many of these children won’t live past their first birthday and those that do are left with many challenges to overcome. Through the work of Operation Smile, these children are able to receive life changing surgery that their parents aren’t able to afford.

Operation Smile is the largest volunteer based medical charity offering cleft surgery. They have been operating since 1982 and have provided more than 3.5 million comprehensive patient evaluations and over 200,000 free surgeries for children and young adults born with facial deformities. Operation Smile works in over 60 countries.

So now you’re probably thinking how do Operation Smile and college textbooks connect? Well Campus Book Rentals offers
-40-90% off of bookstore prices
-free shipping both ways
-can highlight in the textbooks
-flexible renting periods

They also donate to Operation Smile with each textbook rented! How cool is that? I remember how much textbooks costs from the college book store when I was in college and that was a few years ago. I can only imagine that prices have increased. I wish I had known about an option like this to rent my textbooks.

And another cool think they offer is that textbooks that you’ve purchased you can rent out. This program is called RentBack and it is a new initiative that allows students to rent the textbooks they own – to other students… which is awesome because it makes them 2-4x more money compared to what they’d make through buyback options! (selling their books back at the end of the semester) I really wish they had this when I was in college because I remember at the end of the semester that you didn’t often get much back for those big and expensive books.

Let any college students in your life know about this great RentBack program and about Campus Book Rentals where they can find textbooks to rent. Don’t forget to remind them that a portion of the proceeds go to Operation Smile. What a great way to feel good about the money you’re spending on textbooks.

Tell me, what was the most expensive book you purchased in college? Mine was probably my Chemistry book.

How does it work?:
