We love to have cook-outs, do you? At our new house we have a huge deck which is perfect for having family and friends over and having a cook-out. I am always looking for fun little treats to have when we have guests over so I came up with this TWIX Mix and it did not disappoint.

As the summer is upon us there are lots of fun holidays to celebrate. First, is Memorial Day and this TWIX Mix is perfect for your Memorial Day celebrations because it has some red, white and blue, oh and it’s delicious. I decided I wanted to use the TWIX to put a little spin on the typical trail mix. When Tyler and I were discussing this he said this will be a  lot better than the typical trail mix with dried fruit. I stared at him and laughed and said you’ve never had my mom’s trail mix. My mom’s trail mix is delicious and addicting. In the place of dried fruit is m&m’s and cheerios, it’s so good. So I set out to create something equally delicious that combines salty and sweet, because who can pass that up right? TWIX Bites were the perfect base to start the recipe for this TWIX Mix because they are small and bite size.

On Saturday we headed out to Wal-Mart to pick up some of the Bite size TWIX and the other ingredients we needed to put together this TWIX Mix. They were also having an in-store demonstration so we were excited to get to sample a TWIX Bite and pick up a coupon which you can get too.TWIX Mix- Love, Pasta and a Tool Belt  You can get this coupon from Social Twist and get $1.00 off when you buy two 2.83 oz or larger bags OR $3.00 off when you buy two 6 oz. or larger bags. Thats a pretty sweet coupon for these TWIX bite size or for any of the other bite size choices.

My hubby is a fan of salty and I’m a fan of sweet so you really can’t get any better than this for an after-the-kids-go-to-bed snack for us. 🙂
