It is getting cold outside, like it was really cold this past week! We decided to have an at home Date Night with Marie Callender’s pot pies. When it’s freezing outside and dark by 5 pm going out for dinner is not one of my favorite things. I like to get in my pjs and sweatshirt and have an at home date night. This past Friday night we decided to do just that with a chicken pot pie and some binge watching of our favorite shows.

On Friday I headed out to Wal Mart to pick up a Marie Callender’s family size chicken pot pie. I also picked up a delicious garlic loaf in the Wal Mart bakery because what is a meal without bread?

Winter really snuck up on us here in Tennessee. Last week the temperatures dropped into the 30’s. If you follow along then you know we have a new puppy. She’s still working on house training and getting used to her crate. Since it was freezing cold outside and I had a nasty head cold we decided to stay home for date night this week. The Marie Callender’s chicken pot pie was a delicious dinner and had the perfect golden flaky crust.

The pot pie was so easy to make. All I had to do was poke a few holes in it and put it in the oven to bake. As the holiday season approaches everything is getting so much busier. It gets harder to carve out time to have date nights and family dinners. The Marie Callender’s family size pot pie is the perfect option. It tastes like it is homemade without the stress of having time to prepare it.

Man, that looks so good! And I hear you about not wanting to venture out when it is cold and dark. There is nothing better than putting on your sweats and cuddling up on the couch to watch a good movie!

We have all been sick over here for the past 2 weeks, so having something ready to go in the freezer is perfect for these occasions! I have to say, I’m super jealous of how comfy and cozy you guys look.

That’s my kind of date. I’ve had a cold for a week and half. I just want to curl up with a pot pie and watch a great movie.
