Today Rebecca is sharing a DIY Valentine’s Day Gift: A Year of Dates
DIY Valentine's Day Gift: A Year of Dates- Love, Pasta and a Tool Belt | Valentine's Day | Gift Ideas | Valentine's Gifts | DIY |

Last year for Valentine’s Day, I made my husband a fun gift that may have been one of his favorites. I liked it because it was easy to make and I also got to benefit from giving it to him. I gave him a year of dates.

What you’ll need:

  • A box or basket
  • 13 envelopes
  • 13 cards
  • Ribbon
  • Stickers

I went to my local craft store and picked out a basket large enough for 13 envelopes. I also picked out a set of plain cards and plain envelopes that matched, but this is where you can get creative and pick anything that you like! I bought letter stickers and made an envelope for each month of the year (March through the next February) using the stickers to spell out the months. I also created one envelope labeled, “Today.” I put a pretty ribbon around the envelopes once I sealed them. I used pop-up stickers to decorate the outside of each card a little differently.

I did a little research about fun dates in our town and brainstormed what were some of our favorite dates in the past. I created a list of all these dates and tried to think of what month would be the best to do each of them in. In each card I wrote out what date we were going on that month in a quirky and fun way, being sure to mention what was special about the date or why I picked it.

In the card for the envelope marked “Today,” I explained to my husband that I was giving him a year of dates and that he was allowed to open each month in the month prior (March could be opened in January). He absolutely loved the gift and we had so much fun going on all the dates I came up with!

Have you ever made fun gift for Valentine’s Day?
