Is it just me or is everyone having babies right now? I’m 28, so it’s probably just the age I am at, but I feel like every time I turn around one of my friends is announcing their pregnancies. It’s so exciting and I love buying baby clothes and baby toys but sometimes in the midst of all of that I think we forget to pamper the new mom a little. So today I am sharing some ideas for a New Mom Gift Basket with Softsoap.
Now you may be thinking Emily, you’re not a mom yet, how do you know what to put in the basket? Well no worries because I spent last week with my best friend who has a 5 week old baby boy. I picked her brain throughout the week to get ideas of what to put in this basket. One of the first things on my mind, from my time as a nanny, was a nice soap and that’s where the Softsoap comes in because we all know that with babies comes dirty diapers, spit up and more gross things. Washing your hands is something that becomes constant so it’s so important to have a good soap!
I headed out to Wal Mart while I was visiting Anna to pick up these cute new Softsoap Liquid Foaming Hand Wash: Kitchen Citrus Bliss, Jasmine and White Cotton, Whipped Cocoa Butter to put in my new mom gift basket!
In addition to the Softsoap, Anna and I came up with some other ideas of items to put in the gift basket.
Gift Basket Ideas:
–Lotion– because with all that hand washing your hands get dry!
–Reading materials– magazines or books are great especially for all that time spent feeding the baby!
–Snacks– another important thing when feeding the baby is to have snacks, especially if you are nursing!
–Chapstick– who doesn’t love some new chapstick? This was high on Anna’s list!
–Candle– Candle’s are such great gifts and help mask the smell that babies can bring
–Thank you notes– I found these cute thank you notes and thought they’d be perfect to send to people who brought gifts or food!
–Notebook and pens– I always need a good little notebook and the ones I found were too cute to pass up!
–Gift Card– Probably to somewhere that either delivers or does take out. Pick the new moms favorite restaurant if you can’t bring a meal!
Ok, now tell me what you would add to this gift basket? Because I’m going to need to be making a lot of these in the next few months! I mean maybe I’ll go run one over to my neighbor Carrie Underwood. I kid, but how cool would that be right? We’re both in the Nashville area, we should be friends!

I think the foaming Softsoap hand soap is perfect for the new mom basket! I was crazy about clean hands more than ever once I had my first bone. Not only my hand washing, but anyone that came over or wanted to hold my little guy. #client
