Making the Most of April Showers- Love, Pasta and a Tool Belt

Unless you live in California, you’ve probably been experiencing a significant amount of rain already this Spring. I know the weather here in Nashville has me feeling like I live in Seattle. Cloudy days and rain can really bring you down, unless you make the most of April showers. Here are a few ways to make this rainy season more bearable.

1. Get yourself an adorable pair of rain boots.
Back when I lived in California, I owned one pair of super cute rain boots and it hardly ever rained. Itt made me so excited for days that it did rain and I could wear my boots. Go out and get a pair with colorful polka dots or stripes and it will brighten up any rainy day.

2. Take those rain boots to some puddles
As an adult I hadn’t jumped in any puddles in years. With a cute pair of rain boots on, there is no excuse not to do a little splashing. Be a kid again!

3. Build a pillow or a blanket fort
Throw a few pillows under your dinning table and cover the table with a large blanket. Extra points if you have junk food to munch on and board games to play in your new hideout.

4. Have a movie marathon
Been a while since you’ve seen all 7 Harry Potter movies? Take a rainy weekend to re-watch them all or any other favorite series that you love.

5. Take A Bubble Bath
There are few things more relaxing than a warm bath and a good book on a gloomy night.

6. Bake A Batch Of Cookies
Cookies are always welcome! You’re not even required to share!

7. Have a coffee shop date
Meet a friend you haven’t seen in a while for coffee at a favorite spot. A cozy cafe on a rainy day is the perfect place for great conversation.

8. Enjoy a good nap
Falling asleep to the sound of the rain is so soothing.

What do you like to do when it rains?
