I'm so excited to talk about my new blog design and how I'm Making Crafty Delicious for you at Love, Pasta and a Tool Belt

You guys, I am doing a happy dance over here and so freaking excited. My new blog design is live and I’m in love with it! I’m also pretty stoked because I did it myself. And by myself I mean with the amazing help of my wonderful husband and my great friend Teresa from Crafty Wife! But what I mean is, I designed the elements and implemented the entire thing on my own without paying someone to do it this time.

So if you know me at all, you know that I am very code illiterate. Photoshop was a foreign concept to me until a few months ago. But I had my husband put it on my computer and I’ve slowly began learning how to use it. I wanted to learn so I could create more fun printables for you guys and also so I could give my blog a refresh. I seem to get that itch to redesign about once a year because it was around this time last year that Madison from Grace and Vine Studios did my redesign. It was amazing and took my blog to a whole new level. If designing isn’t in your skill set then I highly recommend using her because she’s amazing to work with.

But just like in my home decor, I’m constantly wanting to change things up and falling in love with new colors. Navy has been my current obsession so this blog design became quite based around navy. I worked hard with Teresa’s help to come up with a color pallet, fonts and more. Let me tell you I have mad respect for all the designers out there, like Madison, because it’s not easy.

P.S. Below are affiliate links. If you purchase one of these themes I receive a small commission at no charge to you! This allows me to keep creating fun crafts and recipes for you!

For this design, I decided to go with the Brunch Theme from Shay Bocks. I loved the Foodie Theme but when I saw the Brunch theme I fell in love and immediately knew I had to have it. I love how simple and clean it is and hopefully it makes things a little more easy to navigate for you guys. I also have the Genesis Framework which is something you need for either of these themes!

Brunch: A Genesis Child Theme for Food & Lifestyle Bloggers

I also wanted to refocus my blog this year and after a reader survey know that crafts and recipes are some of the favorite posts, so came along my new tagline, making crafty delicious. I plan to continue sharing delicious recipes and fun crafts with y’all as well as home & decor projects. We’ve been doing a lot of home updating lately that I am excited to share with y’all!

I’d love to hear what you like about the new design? Or if there is a way I can make it easier for you to navigate?

I get you on the coding thing… I am teaching myself as I go and it can be tricky!

Emily your new blog design looks beautiful! Congratulations! I love the Genesis framework too, but for my site I ended up doing my own. My only input is to perhaps make your banner logo slightly bigger since there are a lot of open space. But that’s just my opinion. As it is looks fabulous too! 🙂

Congrats! Looks great! You are lucky to have been able to do it mostly yourself. I have heard stories of what others pay and it’s outrageous! I’m lucky enough to have a brother who helps me out.

Bravo for doing it yourself! A redesign is on my to-do list this year but I’m not brave enough – that’s why mine has been so simple for so many years. =)

The new design is so clean and modern. Love it. I’m a huge fan of the color blue and I really like how you incorporated navy. It’s not a color you see all the time, which I love.
