Fire up the grill and make summertime sweet with this Sweet Tea BBQ Chicken
It pretty much feels like summertime here, what about in your area? It’s crazy because a couple weekends ago it was in the 50’s and now it’s the 90’s and feels like we’re already in July. Hello heat and humidity. Fortunately it cools down nicely in the evenings still and we really enjoy grilling out on these nice spring/summer evenings. We always love creating new recipes and chicken is one of our favorite things to grill out.
Chicken always goes great with a good bbq sauce and I was excited to try out the KC Masterpiece® BBQ Sauce Mix and Dry Rub. After a quick date night (our first since baby girl was born) we headed by Kroger to pick up the KC Masterpiece® Dry Mix which we found in the condiment aisle. From now until 8/31 you can get $1.00 off the KC Masterpiece Dry Mix! I was excited to try this out and was intrigued by the idea of adding a different liquid to create a delicious sauce.
Since I grew up in a southern home, sweet tea was a staple. I drank so much sweet tea until about 2009 when I decided to give it up. Too much caffeine and sugar made me decide to give up the main source of it in my life. Throughout my pregnancy I craved sweet tea, of course right? So once I had the baby the first thing I asked for was some sweet tea, it seemed like an appropriate reward after having a baby. With sweet tea on the mind, I decided to use it as the liquid addition to the KC Masterpiece Dry Mix. We picked up the original flavor and added sweet tea to give it a good southern kick.

With this Sweet Tea BBQ sauce, chicken is the perfect summer meal! I love the KC Masterpiece® Dry Mix because you can add whatever liquid you want in order to make the bbq sauce unique, and two packets make 16 oz. of BBQ sauce! What would you add to it? Are you a sweet tea fan like me?
