Hosting a party? Why not make it a brunch? Check out these tips on How to Have a Fabulous Brunch

I am big fan of breakfast foods and getting my friends together. Therefore, one of my favorite excuses to plan a gathering, is to host a brunch. I’ve hosted bridal brunches, birthday brunches, or brunches for no reason at all other than to enjoy good food and good company and I have a few tips for how to have a fabulous brunch.

1. Don’t Start To Early
The great thing about brunch is that your friends can still get much needed sleep on the weekend and still enjoy a great breakfast. I like starting most brunches at 11 am to allow for plenty of beauty rest and time to prepare the hot portion of the meal.

2. Keep The Food Simple
There are so many different kinds of breakfast foods that it can be easy to go overboard and get overwhelmed. I like to make one main dish like a ham and cheese quiche and add smaller, bite-sized items to go with the main dish like fruit and mini muffins.

3. Mimosas Make Everything Special
Something about champagne in the morning makes even the most ordinary get together a special occasion. Don’t feel like you have to splurge on expensive champagne to make good mimosas. I think fresh-squeeze orange juice is the secret to the best mimosas.

4. Simple Flowers Dress Up A Table
The flowers don’t have to be expensive and there don’t have to be tons of them. Even a daisy or two in a small vase by each place setting adds a decorative touch to the table.

5. Enjoy The Company
As with hosting any gathering, it can be easy to get caught up in wanting everything to be perfect from the food to the decorations. Don’t get so worried about the outcome that you forget to enjoy why you’re getting your friends together in the first place.

Have you ever hosted a brunch? What are your secrets to a fabulous gathering?
