I’m a little late writing this post but I promised my Aunt Kay she could be on the blog and I would share with you guys about our 2nd (sort of) Annual Thanksmas and Hancock Holiday Hustle. From time to time I like to share with you a little bit about our lives because well that is why I started the blog originally.

2nd (sort of) Annual Thanksmas- Love, Pasta and a Tool Belt

All of the medal winners from the Hancock Holiday Hustle! Papaw took MVP- Most Valuable Papaw

This past Thanksgiving we were fortunate enough to be able to get everyone from my mom’s side of the family, except one couple, to Ohio. That is no small feat with our family. My mom has two sisters, one has four children, the other six and there are four of us kids in my family. Now that we have six out of college, three in college, high schoolers with busy sports schedules and four cousins with spouses it takes a lot to get us all together. But we did it and we had so much fun!

Me and Aunt Kay my bff!

We call it Thanksmas because we used to always get together on Thanksgiving and celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas. We don’t exchange gifts anymore but it’s still the spirit of Thanksgiving and Christmas in one weekend. On Thursday we had our Thanksgiving meal and had lots of leftover turkey which would be perfect for this Cheesy Turkey Pasta Bake. On Friday night we had my favorite meal which was our Christmas meal: ham, macaroni and cheese, mixed vegetable casserole, hashbrown casserole and more.

Before the big race

Four years ago we started the tradition of a family 5k. This was the first time we were able to get back together on Thanksgiving since then so we had the 2nd (sort of) Annual Hancock Holiday Hustle. Last time a friend of the family was the winner so we were determined to have a family member win it all and my cousin Joey did just that and kept it in the family for us!

Meg and I rocked the Fun Run!

We enjoyed a lot of football, card playing, board games, food and laughter. It was a great Thanksgiving and Sadie got some major socialization skills practice meeting all of the family! How was your Thanksgiving?

How much fun. We use to do this when I was younger but now that everyone is older we just hang out and eat. Haha. Happy Thursday!
