Christmas is my favorite holiday. I love decorating for Christmas, spending time with family and the food. Most importantly I love celebrating the true reason for the season, Christ’s birth. You all know I have a love for making wreaths and this Simple Christmas Wreath is one of my favorites.
I was sitting here watching tv one night and then bam had a great idea for a Christmas wreath. It didn’t turn out exactly as I had envisioned but what ever does right? But I absolutely love how this wreath. Growing up, Christmas decorating was always very big in my house. My dad pulls out the Christmas music as soon as it gets cold outside. We always got a fresh tree, made some Russian Tea, turned on the Christmas music and had a great time decorating the tree. We always put icicles on our tree and I always got annoyed because my dad made us do them one by one and I thought it would be way more fun to just toss them on and see where they landed. He did not find that amusing. This wreath doesn’t involve any fun icicles (though that is an idea) but boy is it cute and easy!
Supplies:
– Twine Wreath
– Christmas Burlap Ribbon
– Scissors
– Clear fishing wire
Directions:
1. Began by wrapping the ribbon around the wreath, tuck it into the back when you start so it stays in place.
2. Once you have wrapped around the wreath completely tuck it into the back again.
3. Take your ribbon and make a bow then tie it onto the front of the wreath using the fishing wire.
And wah-la you are done! Now I am going to be honest and tell you that I am terrible at making bows. I wish I had the skills to make those big beautiful bows you can spend way too much on at the craft store but alas I do not. I was ecstatic to have gotten a bow that looked as good as this one, so please don’t hate on my bow! I did my very best and I am happy with it! Hopefully you excel in the bow making area and if you have a great tutorial on how to make bows please do share it below!
Have you made a Christmas wreath?
