Today I’m sharing how I created a Simple Nightstand Makeover to accompany my new GE Align™ PM LED Light Bulb!

I don’t know about you but sleep is pretty important to me. There are some nights where I just don’t get a good night of sleep and the following days are not very enjoyable. I am always looking for ways to help improve my sleep and when I heard about the new GE Align™ PM LED Light Bulb I had to try it out! While I was at it I decided to do a simple nightstand makeover to give my nightstand a cleaner and less cluttered look.

To start my nightstand makeover I decided to think about what I use the most from it. Lotion, lip balm and kleenex were at the top of my list. Those things usually find themselves scattered all over the nightstand and it looks quite cluttered. I don’t know about you but looking at clutter doesn’t really help my sleep. I love organizing with baskets so I picked up cute basket at the craft store to use to organize all of my lotions etc.

I recently read an article that said looking at flowers in the morning would make you happier throughout the day. I don’t know how much truth there is today but I do enjoy flowers. Instead of worrying about keeping fresh flowers I picked up some beautiful silk flowers and decided to create a cute mason jar to keep them in. I took my mason jar and spray painted it a soft yellow color to match my bedroom. It’s a very easy process and if you need more details head over to my Spray Painted Mason Jar Tutorial.

I picked up some adorable burlap ribbon (side note: I love burlap!) and used it to tie around my mason jar and my basket. I have my cute initial burlap canvases on the wall in the bedroom so I love how using the ribbon tied in with the decor in my bedroom.

To finish off my nightstand makeover I put in my GE Align™ PM LED Light Bulb. I love the warm soft light that it gives off.

Using this light in the evening 30 minutes before bedtime in place of other lighting can help your body maintain its natural sleep-wake cycle and help users maintain better sleep rhythms.  GE Align™ also has an AM bulb you can use to help wake up your body in the morning. I bought my lightbulb on Amazon and love how easy it is to buy and how fast it arrived!

I could definitely use a lamp for my night stand! Then I would sneak a little more reading in 🙂

I love your makeover, especially the lampshade! I’m a big fan of burlap, and can’t wait to try and redo my lampshade the same way. Interesting info about the light bulb too. I’ve never heard of them, and need to check them out. PINed.

I love your nightstand! I’m the worst at keeping my nightstand clean, but now I want to go clean it so it can look as cute as yours!

I need to declutter my night stand. It makes such a difference. The light looks beautiful too. I am picky about my lightbulbs and this one looks great.

My nightstand pretty much looks like the first picture. Maybe I should declutter it and change my light bulb, so I can sleep better at night.

I hate clutter, but for whatever reason, my nightstand seems to collect it. I’m almost ashamed to admit that it currently has two empty water bottle and a glass sitting on it…
