Want to start a blog? Today I can help with How to Start a Blog: In 3 Easy Steps!

Thinking about starting a blog? I can help with How to Start a Blog: In 3 Easy Steps- Love, Pasta and a Tool Belt | blogging tips | blog ideas | small business | DIY |

When I first started my blog I had no idea where to start. I also had no idea the path it would take me down and it’s been a wonderful journey so far. If you’re looking to start a blog I wanted to share with you how to do so and try to make it as easy as possible for you.

This post contains affiliate links. I am an affiliate for Blue Host but my experience, love for Blue Host and opinions are completely my own!

1. Choose a host– I originally did just a free WordPress blog but once I wanted to grow my blog that wasn’t the best option anymore. I wish I had initially started out with a self-hosted WordPress blog, it would have been a lot easier. I had a different host at first that came with a host of different issues. While there are several different options out there, I’ve switched over to BlueHost now and I couldn’t be happier with it! The customer service is superb and I’ve only had one issue since switching and it was one I caused myself (oops).

You’ll want to chose which plan is right for you. There are a lot of different options and if you find yourself unsure about which is right for you their customer service is willing to help you figure it out!

2. Register Your Domain– Deciding on your domain name can be complex so I’ve got a post with a few tips for naming your blog! If you already have a domain name and you’re switching over to Blue Host then you’ll need to transfer your domain name over to Blue Host when you sign up!

3-Domain Registartion

3. Install WordPress– After you’re all set up with your host and domain name you’ll want to install WordPress. You’ll head in to your cPanel and then install WordPress!

You will follow the prompts and fill in the information in order to get WordPress set up with your domain name. Once you get it installed then you’ll be provided with instructions on how to access your WordPress account.

17-Mojo Email

Once this is done then you’ll sign in to your WordPress dashboard and you are ready to start creating!

And that my friends is how you get started on starting up your blog. Don’t let it seem intimidating, it’s pretty well guided and if you find yourself lost then contact Blue Host and they will help you out!

So you’ve got your blog up and running and you’re wondering what’s next? Stick around next week for your next steps!
